managed to win tix from WXYC in the car on the
way to the show. Got there just in time for NOMO to start. Couldn't
have planned it any better. They rocked then I went home and went to
bed. I picked up a copy of their second to last record but not their
latest, latest. Apparently everything they played was off the record I
got. Maybe they didn't have the personnel for the new stuff. At any
rate, great show. Hardly anybody saw it, though.

The 506 is really starting to sound good, now, with the new sound guy.
Don't know his name, but I've seen him around.

hello everyone!
yet again, another show!

wow, i know, you're thinking how can durham be so hip right now!
well it is.
come on out and revel in it!

** Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006 - 8:30pm **

Chest Pains (durham) - stoner/skater punk radness done old school
style. back went it was still cool to cover Creedence. which in my
opinion is still way cool. oooh speaking of The Chest Pains, they do do
a pretty killer cover of Fortunate Son.

My War (richmond) - fast paced, heart-attack inducing hardcore outta
that scene-ridden city above us. members of the phenomenal band the
SetUp comprise this new anxious powerhouse.

Gorman St. Sluts (raleigh) - our neighbor to the east continues her
tradition of breeding spitfire, opinionated hardcore and punk. this is
raleigh's premier pirate punk band! we're talkin' some killer, good ol'
fashioned punk rock'n'roll to count yer doubloons to. the kind that
grandma used to make mix tapes of for grandpa.

be here early so's we can get this underway on time!

all ages!

if you are not there at 9 at the very latest, you will miss the first
band!
promise.

it's a weeknight, let's get into the habit of starting these shows on
time. more people will come out on the weeknight if the shows are
earlier/start on time - it's a fact. it's something we have to work
together on. it's hard convincing the first band to start when only 2
people are there. this just perpetuates the annoyance of shows starting
super late.
let's get this tradition started! no more false start times! it'll take
some time, but we can do it!

see ya tonight!!
love, chaz.
