James didn't say anything bad about the people. He said he thought
their wares were overpriced by his scale. That's not a personal slight
to a business-owner, and I doubt the proprietors would see it as such.
In fact, while I'm sure they would appreciate your loyalty, I imagine
even they would find your defense inappropriate and misplaced in its
ferocity. Do you know them personally? Have you asked them what they
think about this? Have you shown them these messages?

Last I checked, it was far from a sin to bemoan high prices, whether
justifiably high or not.
