Even the title on the linked page is misspelt.

Hi all

Finally after 16th months we are there!
You can find the CC England and Wales licences online
at http://users.ox.ac.uk/~inet0009/creative_commons/

Before they go finally on the Creative Commons website pls help us reviewing the licences for mistakes, problems with numbering etc...which might have occurred during the creation of the different versions in XHTML.

Thanks

Dear Sylvia,

The launch is not of UK licences, but of licences for England and
Wales. There are three distinct legal jurisdictions in the UK and any
given licence has to be jurisdiction-specific. It is hard to find out
about the English/Welsh licences, which have not been published
although I am sure they are very good, but I can say as joint project
leader with Hector MacQueen that the current draft of the Scottish
licenses can be reached at
http://www.jonathanmitchell.info/informationlaw.html . It is the
project intention to go live in the next few weeks, with a view to a
speedy release.

I would be very happy to deal with further inquiries- please give me a ring if you like at 0773 963 9343- I'm free until 1245 and possibly
after lunch. Best wishes

Jonathan

I'm a member of the press and I'm looking for someone who can
explain more about the new Creative Commons UK licenses for a
potential story. Ideally I'm looking to talk to someone today (16

Indeed this is what I meant, the CC licenses for Wales and England
are ready and about to go on the website.

As a foreigner from the continent I get still somewehat confused
about the whole UK/England/Scotland/Britain situation...;-)

Thanks Desiree and Paul for correcting me.

Greetings everyone,

I'd like to take this opportunity to inform and invite you to a
Symposium that is being planned jointly by fading ways music and
brighton's loca records. More info at:

www.musiccommons.org

Friday May 6th 2005, University of Sussex. UK.

"A one day symposium to bring together people involved both in
theory and practice of peer-produced commons production. Including
Creative Commons, open source and Free/Libre Culture. Ideas,
strategies and tactics, from releasing music to sharing and remixing
work - and how to make new commons-based business models function
alongside the present music industry model and its increasingly
restrictive legal environment."

You can register online for the event, and make suggestions as to
the still-being-developed agenda. Should you be interested in
speaking at the event, please e-mail myself or David.

Cheers,
Neil Leyton
