Bandwidth is dirt cheap these days, and you can't really put bittorrent and
shared bandwidth aside, as they are fairly easy ways around this. It would be
easy for me to buy a host for artists' music and resell bandwidth+space on it
for next to no money for them (a critical mass of 25 groups say, and it would
pay for itself, with them paying US$1/mo). Get together with a web designer
and you could do the whole website package (just ban those horrible
splash-screen-ridden, flash-driven webpages that most bands seem to
produce :)

As bandwidth gets cheaper, this is only going to become more accessible. See,
