This seems like great news for many of the reasons mentioned by others
in the thread!

And this is even better! I'm thrilled that CC has taken this step toward
drawing a line in the sand and arguing for a explicit set of essential
or minimal freedoms -- even if it's not the set that I am currently most
comfortable with. These types of positions by CC are, I think, going to
be important to free culture's success.

I'm initially skeptical about adding the DevNations provisions to the
other licenses for a variety of reasons, some of which are related to
why I'm not sad to see the license go away now. That said, I'll think
hard about the implications now and participate in the discussion when
it happens.

Congratulations again on the important step.
