Your reasoning is obscure to me because I don't know what you mean by
(C) and (P) are. This is why it's important to agree on a standard
vocabulary and make sure your audience understands it. It's just like
open standards.

(C) is the copyright on the score or song.

(P) is the copyright on the sound recording.

If you look at your CD you'll see the (c) and (p) dates on it. They can be
different, the (p) may be later than the (c).

These are standard, if specialist, terms.
