Hi guys,

I like John's suggestion regarding the cover. And I vote for the cover with the background in black and with the stickers over the cassete ;) Just one note: should we use the word "songs" or "tracks"? Because some of the selected tracks are not songs (if that distinction make sense in English; in Portuguese it does...).

Regarding side B, don't be crazy, don't do it now! As you know, it took me a day just to get all the info regarding all the tracks and that's nothing: the most difficult part is to compile all that different stuff in a way that sounds pleasant!

I've been working on putting the tracks in the "right" order and I've been asking myself why don't we have a professional DJ (?!?), because we have 20 tracks of different genres, which is quite complicated to compile. I'm satisfied with half of it but the other half I'm still not sure! I'd like to send you the files, so that you could download, hear them all together and give your opinion before uploading them to the public. Unless of course you trust my *alternative* taste that much... ;-)

Since I'm leaving to Rio tomorrow, I won't be able to help much more with this. If I had time, I would write a paragraph per track. It should not be difficult, since normally the artists/labels write something about the artists and the albums in the websites we have on the list...

B,
Teresa

Hi Christian,

Yes, I tried it the other way around on the CC Europe sticker - but it
didn't really work out so well. The main problem is the width of
"europe" and the height of the cc-circle. For that to fit in the other
way around we'd need to make them much smaller, and the looks even worse
(and somewhat unnatural). Otherwise we'd have to put the cc-circle in
the bottom and leave "europe" in the middle, but then it reads Compiled
by Europe CC, which I think sounds a little stupid :) Wouldn't you agree?

it's those little things that get you tangled up all the time, tell me about it *sigh*
;-)

Alek, however, suggested moving the stickers to the lower left corner -
  and/or consolidate into them into just one sticker. I've tried a
couple of solutions for that:

http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final6_grey_web.jpg

"from CC Europe" or "by CC Europe" gives kind of a wrong impression on our role here, so I'd suggest to stick (!) with "compiled by".

Not too sure about the single-sticker version, but the other one works
out rather well?

if you have time (you probably don't) you could try one more thing:

A Sticker in the form of a rounded rectangle reading

compiled by
CC Europe

... with our semi-official logo in the middle. I attach it here in PNG true grey. If you need any other formats, let me know.

Best
John

    Hi Christian,

    very nice cover that is :) I'd suggest to switch the "CC Europe" and
    "compiled by", maybe with the cc circle going in the middle?

    Also, we could include the URL
    http://europe.creativecommons.__org/Mixtape

    <http://europe.creativecommons.org/Mixtape> in there, but maybe
    that's too much. You are the music label guru here :)

        Hi everybody,

        Here are a couple of new cover mockups, now with "Europe" added as
        suggested earlier in the thread. Apologies for the delay, but it
        proved
        quite a challenge to fit the new texts onto the cover without it
        seeming
        rather cluttered. I have therefore opted for a "sticker"-option,
        hope
        you like it.

        Black: http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final4_black_web.jpg
        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final4_black_web.jpg>
        Grey: http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final4_grey_web.jpg

        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final4_grey_web.jpg>

        Also, some versions (pre-sticker) in various colors:

        http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final2red_web.jpg
        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final2red_web.jpg>
        http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final2purple_web.jpg
        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final2purple_web.jpg>
        http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final2green_web.jpg
        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final2green_web.jpg>
        http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt___final2blue_web.jpg

        <http://autofunk.dk/cc/mt_final2blue_web.jpg>

        If we choose to go with a colored background and add the
        stickers (or
        just one of them) we should probably match the sticker color(s)
        to fit
        aesthetically with that background color.

        Let me know your thoughts about all of it, so we can get things
        wrapped up.

        Regards from thickly snow-covered Denmark,

        -Christian

             but please w/o "... does not sound like it's CC licensed"
        b/c it
             suggests that all re-usable music is lame, which is not so!
