Slackware 8.1 has 2.2.5 but libstdc++.so.4 only.

Maybe I can compile 5. Slackware 9.0 has libstdc++.so.5 (will need the SW9.0 glibc - 2.3.1?).

Could not find source code.
I extracted essential files from Slackware 9.0 glibc package (2.3.1):

/bin/ldd
/sbin/ldconfig
/etc/rpc
/lib/libSegFault.so
/usr/lib/*2.3.1*

Omitted man, doc, info, most binaries, locale (gconv, i180, zoneinfo)
and the package is now down from 14MB to 1.4MB.

If you want the .h files (headers for compiling):
http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/glibc-2.3.1-includes.tgz

Have not yet installed to try with Seamonkey. It also needs libgcc_s.so.1
which I posted (from Slackware 8.1, remove the SW81 and copy to /usr/lib)
and gtk1 files (see my firelibs.tgz package or extract from gtk package).

Opera 9 keeps failing at various sites.
