"Blue Flops" by Stefan Talpalaru has a 2.6.x kernel and uses 2 floppies.
Maybe it can be of any help.
Cheers,

Steven, have you any interest in compiling a 2.6 kernel for BL?

No. I am perfectly happy with the 2.2 and 2.4 kernels.

You probably don't have any computers less than 8 years old.
We were given three computers with SATA drives that could be made to work
(remove dust, or replace power supply, or replace a few caps on board).
2003-2006.

James Miller suggested tinycore linux, which uses a 2.6 kernel. The
graphical 'core' tinycore.gz is 10MB and you can install various
extensions such as a compiler, and browsers including Midori and elinks
(but not lynx). 1.9MB bzImage. Boots using 18MB memory (BL about 3MB).

It appears not to have ANY modem support but has modules for lots of wired
ethernets.. I downloaded just the bzImage and microcore.gz (no graphics).
Installation instructions are for grub but, as for DSL and puppy, loadlin
works with an initrd.

loadlin bzimage initrd=microc~1.gz ro vga=791

(Boot with tinycore.gz instead if you want graphics support, or add
Xvesa.gz, Xlibs.gz and Xprogs.gz).

It supports framebuffer (unlike the standard Puppy kernel).

sudo required to mount anything. (It boots without login/password).
It will let me mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1
I mounted my BL2 partition and copied the entire module directory to it.

2.6 uses .ko modules but should work with insmod and lsmod.

I then booted BL2 with the tinycore 2.6.29.1 kernel and attempted
to load modules. BL2 insmod cannot find them (it finds the 2.4 module
instead and complains about the version). lsmod says 'function not
implemented'. Same as with puppy kernel and modules.

Any ideas how to use BL2 with 2.6 modules? Slackware does not supply
modules any more.
