Split into two packages.

One by this name is now a Slackware package (installpkg) with ONLY glibc libraries (no documentation or gconv). About 1MB.

Second package:

http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/firelibs.tgz
About 1.7MB - download rather than picking files out of elflibs, gtk, glib and other packages.

Contains other libraries needed by Seamonkey/Firefox , from SW81 mostly.

libgtk
libgdk
libglib
libgmodule
libgcc
libXi
also libX11 6.2 needed by some programs.

This upgrade will also let you use sqlite3 precompiled (glibc 2.3.1) and
MaPiVi precompiled (2.3.2). And Opera 8 and 9 which only need 2.2.5.

Compiled by Slackware to require kernel 2.4.

Seamonkey 2 has similar library requirements to Firefox 3 (dbus).

Using the above libraries, I tried to run seamonkey 1.1.17 and firefox 1.5 (gtk1) in BL3 with jwm and both got as far as "can not set locale modifiers" (twice) and never appeared onscreen. top shows them running - 26% and 30% of my 112MB memory. 200MHz laptop. I tried both Xfbdev (glibc 2 version needed for this gateway, libc5 crashes) and the more memory intensive SVGAlib server. Xvesa does not work with neomagic.

Does anyone else have S. or F. working with BL3?

Opera 9.64 works fine here, as does the BL3 X11 links2.
With Xfbdev and SVGA X server. (Thanks Steven).

neomagic svgalib (libvga) does not work correctly on this Gateway Solo 2000. links2 graphical displays with the bottom third black.
The driver is for neomagic libretto.
