This xfbdev (Xfbdev) uses less memory than SVGA X server and is easier to
set up. It may not work with all programs, such as mplayer, with certain
video cards. It may not work at all with some video cards. Stick with
Xvesa if it works. Xvesa is useless with half of my laptops. Maybe the
latest Xvesa can do neomagic? Xorg posts Xvesa and Xfbdev for libc5.

With my Riva desktop PCI card, the colors in xfbdev are wrong (and mplayer does not work).

Abiword will not load in xfbdev on the desktop or the neomagic laptop.

xli causes all text to disappear from the screen and I had to power off.

lynx and links text mode and links2 graphical and Opera do work, including links graphical and Opera as viewers. mgp works, I think. (I got some sample page).

I will remove XLI and Abiword from the menu.

I think Steven had to specially compile Abiword to work with Xvesa. I wonder what xli wants different.

I will use e3pi or pico not Abiword, and antiword to decode MSWORD files.

cursor.pcf.gz is only 5.1K - maybe it could be included in the next BL along with modified fonts.dir so that non-Xvesa servers work with less additions.
