Ah, a shell built-in. Well, I've justed
booted up BL3 and it does recognize type.
So type is in the BL3 shell (ash). If
you are having a problem with type, then
the ash version of type may be different
than the bash version. You could avoid
this by replacing the BL3 ash with bash
(from Slackware 4.0).
