Immediately after getting that message, execute:

cardmgr -vo

Make a note of what it says. If it gives
you manfid numbers, copy them down exactly.

Hopefully it isn't a cardbus card. Cardbus
cards do not work in BL3.

Yes, the generic ide-cs will probably work.
However AFAIK, you can't install it manually
-- cardmgr must install it.

BL3 does not do modprobes. It does insmods.

Once you have the manfid numbers, you can
create an entry in /etc/pcmcia/config
