Yes, it is the second day with temperatures above 40 Centigrade (that's 104
Fahrenheit).
There is a bad fire near Ballarat, 44 appliances and 6 aircraft fighting it.
Plenty of smaller fires across the state. I got up at 4.30 am this morning -
too hot to sleep. :(

Have a word with your favourite deity, will you, there will be folks here
in trouble before the end of the day. It is now just after 7 am, and it is
already hot. :(

Yes, Chinese settlers came in during the gold rush and have been here ever
since. Oz is a real collection of folks from all over the world, e.g.
Melbourne is the biggest Greek city after Athens.
A big Chinese community in both Melbourne and Sydney. The popular Lord Mayor
of Melbourne is from the Chinese community.
