I am new to Linux.

I have made the two Basic Linix 3.5 floppies and booted from them.
Everything was ok but I want to install the system to an old 428mb hd.

Actually my Pc is a Pentium II 200mhz 48mb ram and Trident Video card
with 1mb, and an interlaced-type monitor.

The problem is, the 'install-to-had' script tells me there is no ext2.

I tried fdisk to do the task but it just gives me e help menu and
nothing else.
Then I "smartly" tried cfdisk from a Knoppix distro and made 3
partitions (the last one for swap).
However, when I checked fdisk it showed me 4 parttiions instead of 3,
being
partitions 2 and 3 supposedly the same, despite the fact of showing two
different sizes.

Am I going the right way? What is wrong, what is missing?

I know I have to format the partitions furtherly, but I still have 'no
ext2'.

Would you pelease help me?

Thanks a lot.
