You may be able to thin them down without much loss
of quality. I use ImageMagic (mogrify) for that.

Elegantly? Perhaps not. However, the 32mb will help.
MagicPoint has an optional caching feature that let's
it preload pages (although I'm not sure that works with
jpegs). If it preloads those jpegs, you might be alright.

Even a normal monitor will help. I've found that the
laptop's screen just does show the detail as well as
an external VDU.

You mean the little red line that you draw with the
mouse? I've never used that myself (yet), but it
could be useful for some presentations.

Yeah, they use it on Puppy. I think one of the DSL
versions used it too. It's a very popular wm for BSD
(or one of those other non-Linux OS).

And that includes user-defined keyboard commands, which
should make some users happy.

Even though the jwm features are very similar to icewm,
it is one-quarter the size. The jwm stuff on BL3.5 will
actually take less space than the swm stuff on BL3.4.
