To Greg Mayman, re keyboard problems

(and that backspace/delete problem is back and won't go away!)

You need to either run xmodmap every time you start X (in an xterm) or put it into /root/.xinitrc so it will run automatically. It is not a one-time correction that stays corrected, it is a remapping that needs to be done each time you run X.

I will try to check out your link problem with links2.

But first we need to determine why both of our dumpster computers stopped booting after one or two semisuccessful boots with the same dumpster keyboard. I know a motherboard can damage a keyboard but vice versa? The keyboard blinks three lights when you turn on the computer and then nothing else happens (second computer, was working fine until now).
