If you do "Xvesa -h", you will see that neither
the -query nor the -broadcast parameters are listed.
However, that is not definitive. The -listmodes and
-screen parameters are also not listed (and they do
work).

When I do:
----------------
Xvesa -broadcast
----------------
I get: Unrecognized option -broadcast

When I do:
------------------------
Xvesa -query 192.168.1.3
------------------------
I get: Unrecognized option -query

I conclude from this that Xvesa is not able to ask for
service from xdm/gdm/kdm. However, I'm pretty sure that
xdm (and probably the others) can be configured to poll
particular addresses (every 10 seconds or so) to check
whether an Xserver is available at that address. Then
all you have to do is start Xvesa with the -ac parameter
(which is what startxt does in BL3). Within 10 seconds
(or so) you should receive the xdm/gdm/kdm login screen.

Cheers,
Steven
