The lilo.conf in BL3 is set read-write, so this won't be a
problem for people using that config. I suspect you created
your own lilo.conf.

Yes (although it is also possible to check rw).

Yes, Slackware remounts the filesystem rw.

No. It's because I left out all the stuff about booting ro
and remounting rw. I like to keep things as simple as possible.
