I downloaded and burned the bl3iso after unzipping. It booted fast and worked very well indeed.

I am curious whether your 'old laptops' also have hard drives, or just floppy and CD-ROM drives.

Here is a suggestion:

has anyone considered making a BL iso image with all the BL addons such as
spreadsheet, Word Processor etc., etc., ? This will be a great Demo CD. Also
for those with CDROMs on older PCs, it will make the install easier.

If you know how to make an iso image you could do this yourself and post it to share. Could this sort of CD, like the floppy versions, also be installed to hard drive so that changes to phone number, login and password, browser config files, etc. could be made permanent? Then it would be a very easy way to install BL3 for people with broadband connections. Steven, who compiled and assembled all the files, has a modem connection.

I have used the DamnSmallLinux CD and you have to make these changes every time you boot.

You could also try putting together a BL version of something like Zipslack - 100MB of files that go onto a zip disk, which can be modified. But this is not as portable between computers.
