Actually, let me expand on that. If my best machine was a
P166/40mb, I would probably network it to a second PC (eg.
a 486-100 with 16mb RAM) and share the load between them.
I would put the Xserver on the 486 and run Firebird 0.5 on
the P166 (with the display routed to the 486).
By removing the Xserver (graphics/mouse/keyboard) overhead
from the P166, you get a noticeable boost in performance.
