To get reasonable performance on Firebird 0.5, you need
a 166MMX with 64mb RAM. With a P166/40mb, I would use
Opera.

It shouldn't be a problem. However, if you install those
base libraries from Slack81, then you should subsequently
use Slack81 (instead of Slack71) for installing additional
libraries and/or developmental packages (d1 directory).
