The blue color sounds like plain VGA (640 res, 16 color, which used to be
the latest and greatest compared to CGA or EGA) since with other video
drivers you get a dark teal. If you installed Steven's list of files
needed to get X it probably included xvga16.tgz which is the plain vga.
Please report back if there are any problems using flwriter in plain vga,
such as things appearing very very slowly on the screen, or crashes.
If you have installed both versions of flwriter (with cxxlibs.tgz needed
to run the earlier one) you can compare them to see what I mean about
running slowly in the earlier version. I think this only happened after I
accessed the menu at screen top.

To get higher resolution you need to have a video card that supports
higher resolution (at least 512K video RAM) and to install the relevant
file (xsvga.tgz or xs3.tgz etc. - these may be all caps) and then to
modify the configuration file for X which is tricky and took me several
attempts using XF86config program. I am hesitant to try to reinstall the
plain Xvga in case it messes up what I have now. But it might involve no
more than installpkg xvga16.tgz. ?Steven

You can make your screen larger by using your hardware monitor controls,
but then you may have to readjust again for console mode.

I have found a better way to reply to web email with lynx - instead of
doing reply (with squirrel mail program that comes with this webmail) I do
mailto:baslinux AT lists.ibiblio.org and fill in the address and subject line
manually. This lets me see what i am typing instead of putting it all on
one very long line that scrolls by as I type. And I can delete things
without leaving big blanks.
