- Subject: [BL] scrollbar in xterm

In order to get a scroll buffer (to be able to see previous pages) with
Kermit I was told to use kermit in an xterm and use the scrollbar of the
xterm. The xterm set up with icewm has no scroll bar so I went into that
xterm (white on black, largish characters) and read the SW book and typed
xterm -sb &
to get a second xterm (black on white) with smaller characters and what
looks like a vertical scrollbar at the left. However I cannot get it to
scroll, using the mouse. There are no little boxes at the top or bottom
of the scrollbar, which extends about 80% of the way up from the bottom
(grey narrow stripe, white above it). Where did I go wrong?
My bbs just disconnected me and when I dialed back in now the grey stripe
extends only half way up the page, ending below the area with text in it.
Why are there three xterms defined in icewm menu?
Also I will have to find some way to get 640 without increasing color
depth in X in order to get this full-screen. When I maximize the xterm it
looks like 1280 resolution. I set X to 16 bpp 1024 resolution. So all of
what I type is in the left top quarter of the screen and tiny.
This is simpler using MSDOS-KERMIT, just PgUp to scroll back.
Kermit can also be used to fetch ftp and http files directly.
