Hello Daryl:

Here's a possibility: sometimes in transferring files to/from Linux/DOS
file naming or case get changed. Could this be the problem in your
instance? In other words, Linux, which is case sensitive, may be looking
for /cd/slakware/a2/bin.tgz, whereas in your DOS partition the path may be
something like /cd/slakware/A2/BIN.TGZ (note the change from lower to
upper case. Linux won't find files that don't match the case it's looking
for exactly. To find out exactly how Linux sees stuff on your DOS
partition, just mount it, cd to it, and do "ls" to look at contents and
case/spelling. That's what comes to mind for me, anyway. If there is a
problem with naming and/or case, renaming under Linux - e.g.,
---------------------------------------
cd /cd/slakware
mv A2 a2
---------------------------------------
etc. - should take care of it. Hope this helps.

James
