Seems in April David wrote to this list about similar behaviour on his
computer. Now I have the same :(
Briefly - modem is too slow to respond. It's works fine with Windows, RedHat
but in BLinux it needs 20-30 seconds to respond. Interesting to note that
delay is exactly the same in few trials. For examle: Send AT&F Receive OK =29
seconds.
More - after connection with ISP established, before "login:" a few greeting
lines appear like
"... Welcome to ISP
In case of any problems ...
Call ..."
modem needs ~20 sec to show each of them separately ( realy they come in one
batch, instantly). Of course I'm unable to establish Dial-up connection due
to the timeout in this situation.
I have built-in modem (laptop Fujitsu Lifebook 585Tx) on COM3 (ttyS2) set to
115200. Second COM1 is not used in this time.
Please help.
