OK, wd is in.

I'm pretty sure the BL2 kernel (zimage) does not have
firewalling build in. You will need to replace it with
a bzimage from Slackware (probably bare.i). On the other
hand, the BL1 kernel does do firewalling -- I have used
BL1 for that purpose myself.

Um... yeah. I *am* using BL1.

I've downloaded both versions of BL but I did something wrong
with BL2 so I'm messing with BL1 until I get more familiar with
linux config stuff. (i.e.: Making small changes to every file until
something works.)

Initially I used the 4meg-to-HDD thing with BL1 but I've dumped
that machine for one with more memory. Then I couldn't get
BL2 working immediately(*) so I went back to BL1.

I found it pretty easy to find, download, and install the wd.o file
so don't add it to the kernel just for me! :-)

Cheers,
Philip
(*) I think I got mixed up with Slack8.1 while I was installing stuff,
so whatever problem I had it's most likely not with BL2... I've got
half a dozen distributions I'm playing with at the moment.
