Not at all. You should be comfortable with your system.
Aliases are a good way of making things more comfortable.
BTW, Slackware 7.1 contains a package that adds DOS-like
commands for the floppy: mdir, mcopy, mcd, mren, mmd, mrd,
mdel, mdeltree, mformat, etc. (with no mounting or umounting).
