isaac,

before you so categorically send to the garbage can all of masorah, i suggest
you take a look at some books on old NW semitic phonology. there is enough
evidence there for it to state some facts. i suggest the attached short file,
as well as the book

w. randall garr: dialect geography of syria-palestine, 1000-586. (2008?)

maybe you will discover that some of the masoretic "inventions" were not so
fictitious after all, as your one-proponent theory suggests, but represent
processes which affected canaanite, aramaic, moabite etc. which you so cozily
refuse to acknowledge. including the fact that "A" was not always "A", leading
to the qamatz qatan and to uzi's remarks.

pere,

if you want to have a fruitful dialogue with isaac, you should ask him, first
of all, which hebrew dialect he is referring to:

A) just biblical B) biblical+masoretic C) modern D) isaac's "Hebrew".

he constantly drinks from the masoreric fountain (for example, he known that
it should be "rashi" and not "roshi", because this is the masoretic rule).
but then he spits on the same fountain and says it is all wrong.

then he constantly jumps from dialect A to dialect C and D, as if all three
were one and the same. meanwhile, you are speaking about dialect B.
