What you call obsolete I call nonexistent.
As written, the word DIBER contains exactly three consonants: DBR. Writing it as DIBBER is, as I see it, a misrepresentation of the Hebrew text.
The Dagesh in MATIY, MATA, MAT, MATEM, all from MUT, follows a patax, as expected.
