1. SHRIYQOT OLAM could be 'world class hissing' or 'hissing for a long time'. The prophet is certainly not saying LA-SUM ARCAM LE- SHAMAH AD OLAM. Otherwise, the hissing against this land is, indeed, without end.
2. The AD OLAM in Jer. 17:4 is only for the anger that is supposedly forever, the promise given to ABRAHAM is not claimed to be revoked, because the prophet knows that it is irrevocable.

Hello Isaac:
Thanks for your thoughtful remarks. I am happy to accept "forever" as the meaning of עד עולם .
And so, we arrive at ...
ושמטתה ובך מנחלתך אשר נתתי לך והעבדתיך את איביך בארץ אשר לא ידעת כי אש קדחתם באפי עד עולם תוקד
jeremiah 17:4
and the relevant portions mean: "abandon the land and the anger burns forever?"
And indeed reconfirming the point, we have:
לשום ארצם לשמה שריקות עולם כי עובר עליה ישם ויניד בראשו
jeremiah 18:16
and the relevant portions mean: "to make the land hissing forever?"
The question becomes, would you retain the meaning of עד עולם and עולם here, respectively, "forever?"
I look forward to hearing from you as to how you would render, how you precisely understand the meaning of these two verses? And particularly in respect of the two little words in question.
Thanks.

In Gen. 13:15 AD OLAM is 'forever', namely, with no time limit set ––– with no statute of limitation. The fact that someone builds a house, a shed, a driveway, a fence, or whatnot, on your land is another issue; it happens everyday everywhere.
Read again Jeremiah chapter 32, and recall verse 15:
כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל עוד יקנו בתים ושדות וכרמים בארץ הזאת
and tell me if he was right, or what.
