Dear Doug,
I think your question goes beyond the list guidelines at this point (the
moderators will correct me if I am wrong). It would require a discussion on
presuppositions that could be very inflammatory to others on the list. Thus,
probably should take answers offlist.
Regarding the Greek. It must be remembered that the LXX was the authoritative
Scriptures of the Diaspora. Thus, the NT used it when writing to the EKKLHSIA
regarding issues of controversy (slightly understating it just a bit).
