Harold:
To add to your list:
The "mercy seat" on the tabernacle was so
significant that it was not even mentioned
in the first description of the tabernacle,
that in Exodus 25. There was a golden cover
that was overshadowed by the wings of the
cherubs, so there was no room on it for a
fancy throne.
Secondly, when Solomon dedicated the temple
in Jerusalem, the glory of the Lord so
filled the whole building that the priests
could not enter, yet Solomon in his prayer
indicated that the temple was too puny to
act as a house for the Lord, as the whole
world was insufficient for that purpose.
