I see this as the same as the difference
between the masculine/feminine uses of XQ,
)BR, and over a hundred other Hebrew nouns.
CLMWT as a plural occurs several other times
in Tanakh, I count another nine times.
I count it a grammatization indicating
meaning change the same way as -chen or
-lein in German indicates "small".
