That article is a typical example of IE speculation.

How did a minor Sanskrit deity became a major Greek one?
How did a sky god became Thunderer?
How little dyau has with Zeus?
I dyau relates to the root "shine," why Greeks borrowed a garbled form,
instead of translating?
How close are Zeus and Iou?
Overall, with this kind of method, a Sanskrit model deity could be found for
any Greek deity, I guess.

The above questions "could" be answered, and even satisfactorily. The point
is that the reasoning, as it stands in the article, is a conjecture.
