Hi,
I don't know if it's significant, but all of the five cases that you cited
were kings of northern Israel, not of Judah. Furthermore, the first is
Jeroboam, the first king of the northern kingdom. The second is Zechariah,
son of Jeroboam II - not the same as the first, but the same name. The other
three are all in the same chapter as the second (2 Kings 15) and refer to
the last kings of the northern kingdom (except the very last, who has no
regnal formula). So maybe it has something to do with the sources that the
composer of Kings was using.
