AFAICG, you are confusing two things: how the document appears in your browser, and how it prints out. Just to read it, your browser needs to be configured to read the fonts which are embedded in the on-line document, but to print it out you need the font installed in your fonts folder on your hard disk ( pardon me, but all this is Windows talk -- I can't help if you're using a Mac )

The Hebrew font used in this article is SPTiberian, and it displays in my browser, and prints out fine both from my browser ( Netscape 7.02 ) and imported as a .HTML file into Word 2002

I tried to download the font again, and still got garbage in those slots.
Any suggestions?

To allow your browser display the Hebrew font you must have it configured to allow the use of embedded fonts. In Netscape, I must check the box labelled " Allow documents use other fonts " i.e display embedded fonts. Whichever browser you're using, you should find something analogous in the "Fonts" section of your settings.

However, I didn't notice Hebrew in the article when I scrolled through it, so I don't know if that's the problem.

This tells me that your browser is not configured properly ( or else of elderly vintage ! )

I trust this is of some help.

BTW, the SPTiberian font is available from the SBL web-site: go to ftp://ftp.sbl-site2.org/fonts/
and click on Windows or Mac as required. Be sure to d/l the .readme file as well as the actual font file.

Regards,

Maurice
