Lloyd,
Everyone is aware of the issues in translating 'elohim and Yahweh. It's
just that most people on the list like to observe certain etiquettes
which don't make the forum abrasive. Your suggestions for translation
are legitimate - but the way in which you couched them in your message
was very abrasive to say the least. You could have said the exact same
thing a lot better if you'd taken the time not to offend people. Each to
their own, of course, but let's think twice before writing to a forum
which is composed of people from many different persuasions. You are of
just one persuasion - nothing makes your worldview more right than
others' in this forum. Instead of sensationalist comments on an issue
which most will probably agree with you on - but which others for good
religious reasons wouldn't - just keep the messages unabrasive. That's
one of the policies of the forum, so don't overstep the mark, for your
own sake.
