Dear Jonathan,

A hearty welcome to you (and your friends)!

there's lots of very helpful software for Biblical Hebrew(BH), and you'll
probably get the Greek "thrown in" at no extra charge! ;-) i like
Bibleworks for Windows, if you happen to have a pc. the latest
Bibleworks(4.0) is due out in February 1999 if you can hang on. anyhow,
these computer Bible aids give the kind of help you are looking for with a
very friendly interface. of course, it's difficult to actually learn a
language from Bible software, and if you are more interested in a book that
teaches as you read you may be interested in Lasor's first year grammar
which, if memory serves, teaches inductively by reading the book of Ruth.
Lasor's book may not suit you well if you already know BH since he starts
the student off at square one. i'm really not familiar enough with it to
say how well it works, so please don't consider this a recomendation per
se. i'm just saying you may want to check it out because you are reading
Ruth. sooner or later, you
are going to want the software.

Shalom,
Bryan
