I don't mean to say "let's find some other software and see if that fixes
the doc problem". I mean to say: we need docs, and if people are really
being put off of writing them because of some software we run, please just
write them and don't assume we have to stick with this for some reason. Or
if you must, put up your favorite software somewhere and get all the docs
written and high quality and then let us know and we can migrate it to our
server or something.

What I don't want to do is have an endless conversation about favorite
software packages when we don't even have this stuff in plain text format.
Content first, doodads later.
