I have a repel vest that I use with my dogs for repelling, but the cool
thing about this repel vest is that it also has straps that turn the vest
into a backpack. That way you can evacuate an injured dog as a backpack.

Another thing that Una wanted me to point out is that my SAR/ USAR dog is a
37 pound Border Collie. She is NOT an 80 pound GSD or Lab.
She rides in front of me, but I do need to find a better way to transport
her because, even though she hasn't said anything about it, I know that the
horn has to hurt after a while. I use pommel bags for her to put her feet
into for stabilization. Sort of like stirrups almost, but again, this is not
for long rides and I need to come up with something that will be more
comfortable for her.
