Hey everyone,

There’s a ton of radio goodness coming your way this week! Here are some of the exciting shows you can expect to hear soon on WXYC:

On tonight’s Inside Track at 9pm, tune in for Qingxi, the latest release from DJ Sun. This collection of downtempo and midtempo house music explores DJ Sun's Asian heritage, telling the story of his ancestors' experiences as slaves in Qingxi in the mid 19th century.

Tonight's New Science Experience will be a continuation of the NSE Technician Showcase. The Technician Showcase is the culmination of the newly minted NSE Technician Training program led by NSE coordinators earlier last month. The show coordinators worked with 15 WXYC DJs to show them how to use our fancy industry-standard club DJing equipment. They'll be taking over the NSE airwaves through the end of the month demonstrating their new skills.Tonight we'll hear sets from Earl, Tamara, and Chloe. Check it out from 10pm to midnight!

This month WXYC Reports has teamed up with Herban Garden, a Hope Gardens initiative which uses food cultivation to nurture and inspire local youth. We will be exploring the history and contemporary spaces of black farming in the US, as well as discussing how Herban Garden is seeking to foster the growth of community supported agriculture through their presence in Chapel Hill. Tune in this Sunday at 5pm!

And for Monday’s Outside Track, tune in at 9pm to hear a new collaboration between three Norwegian musical entities: guitarist/composer Kim Myhr, vocalist Jenny Hval, and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. A combination of improvisation and arranged forms, every piece seems to be sculpted out of multiple instances of sonic expansion and contraction, existing in a constant, deliberate dichotomy of movement. This stuff is beautiful and intense!
