hiya folx,
thank good it's friday, am i right?  this week i'm reporting live from the wxyc new dj potluck, bringing you the menu for this week's specialty programming on your favorite college radio station, WXYC 89.3 eff - yummmm!!!! (?)

Tonight tune in to the Inside Track to hear the newest from Big K.R.I.T. - Cadillactica. This Mississippi-born rapper/producer's Southern sound comes in fully here and he raps "I apologize if I’m oh-so-old fashioned." Influences of Southern funk come through, and this album is a work of style and sound that K.R.I.T. has resolutely established for himself and done so with a whole lot of energy. Great way to break your normal Friday routine from 9-10pm and have a little extra fun!

On tonight's New Science Experience we'll be having Zach and Sarah of the semi-monthly always-excellent Nightlight-staple DISCO SWEAT dance party. Tune in from ten to midnight for serious italo disco/darkwave synth vibes!

Hell or High Water's coming atcha again this Sunday from 1-2pm, bringing you a special selection of archived recordings from UNC's very own Southern Folklife Collection.  Don't miss it!

Tune into Broken Music this Sunday from 2-3pm and experience the sounds of industry as heard by the French industrial sound artist and musicologist, Jean-Marc Vivenza. Inspired by Italian futurists of the early 1900's such as Luigi Russolo and his Art of Noises, Vivenza encapsulates the sounds of factories, manufacturing facilities, and other machinery. He terms his angle on sound art, "the objective materiality of noise". Some of Vivenza's other projects such as Glacé may also be explored during this exciting one hour segment.

On Sunday night from 9-10, we'll be serving you yet another piping hot plate of Sports Rap.  Tune in for your weekly dose of athleticism.

This week on the Inside Track tune in to hear world-renowned vocal improviser Sidsel Endressen and experimental electric guitarist Stian Westerhus teaming up for a tumultuous improvisational excursion into unknown territory. The duo has an almost telepathic resonance with each other that make the tensions and moments of outburst especially captivating on this release. Bonita is a live-in-studio performance of 9 improvisations sure to capture your attention.  The show will be from 9-10 on Monday!
