So, how about that Lance Armstrong person?

Tonight (Friday) at 9 pm on the Inside Track, tune in for Legowelt's new album The Paranormal Sound on Clone Jack For Daze records. This is an album of Dutch analog house and techno from the ridiculous Danny Wolfers, who goes at this project by piling up neat-o vintage synthesizer tones that snake and wind all over the place in creative melodies.

Then, keep it locked at 10pm tonight (Friday) for the new time of NSE, WXYC's beat-matching and electronic-music based program that will now serve as the perfect soundtrack for those Friday nights where you decide that, just this once, you're not going to stay in with a cup of tea and read ahead for class.

Sunday at 10am on the Orange County Special, Margot is putting together an Inauguration-themed OCS focusing on songs both celebrating and criticizing US presidents throughout history. Turns out people used to care about politics!

Then, get it broken Sunday at 2pm on Broken Music featuring Luc Ferrari's pivotal Presque Rien series. Ferrari began his first installment of the series in 1967, recording the early morning sounds of a Dalmation fishing village where he and his wife Brunhild were vacationing. Over the next three years, Ferrari reassembled those recordings, condensing hours of tape into a 20 minute hyperreal scene of dawn silence. Though Ferrari faced derision from his GRM colleagues over the piece for its relative lack of abstract sounds, the piece served as a turning point for Ferrari. The approach became synonymous with Ferrari's work, as he soon built a catalog of imaginative and often autobiographical audio diaries. Over the hour, we will hear the four Presque Rien pieces. Tune in at 2pm.

Speaking of which, at 9pm on SportsRap, the panel keeps its weekly basketball discussion, by continuing the overview of the Heels' foray into ACC-conference game, recapping the Maryland game, previewing the Georgia Tech game and analyzing the selected starters for the NBA all star game. This and more of the national stories of the week (Armstrong, Teo) on the sportsrap.

Finally, Monday at 9pm on the Outside Track, tune in for Nels Cline and Elliot Sharp's release Open The Door on Public Eyesore. This release is a very cool set of classical guitar duos from two of the biggest names in the avant-garde guitar world that allows them to both incorporate elements of folk and blues as well as jazz, resulting in something sort of like Fahey meeting Derek Bailey.

Sports,
JJ
