Various Artists, "ALIENS, PSYCHOS & WILD THINGS, VOL. 3" on the Inside
Track, Wednesday 9 p.m.
Third installment in Charlottesville, VA label Arcania International's
series excavating the rawest and primitivest garage punk and psych-rock to
emerge from the Old Dominion State in the late 60s and early 70s. These
bands were everywhere back then, just listen for proof.

SOUNDS OF SUMMERTIME on the Thursday Night Feature, Thursday 9 p.m.-
midnight.
It's hot out there. Summer is in full swing. Tune in to the Thursday Night
Feature this week for three hours of songs that evoke summer. Your
suggestions are welcome! To make requests, call (919) 962-8989 or message
the screenname "wxycrequests" on AOL Instant Messenger.

Ticket Giveaways for THE GIDDY MOTORS, ALL ASTRONAUTS, and COLD SIDES
at PS 211, Friday between 3 and 6 p.m.
WXYC will now give away tickets to select concerts at PS 211 in Winston-
Salem on the day of the event. The first of these giveaways will be for
England's The Giddy Motors, All Astronauts, and our own Cold Sides. Get a
bunch of friends together and take a short road trip to see rock from as
far away as London and as close as Chapel Hill. Listen in between 3 and 6
p.m. for your chance to win a pair of tickets. For more information about
PS 211, go to http://www.ps211.org.

MELT BANANA, "Cell-Scape" on the Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
A whole new release from the Japanese hardcore spazz unit most likely to
play in the Triangle in another six months, and it's as bitchin', super-
tight, and intensely jerky as ever. Out on A-Zap Records.

TUJIKO NORIKO, "From Tokyo To Naiagara" on the Inside Track, Monday 9
p.m.
Japanese Righteousness Inside Track No. 2 for the week. After a few
full-lengths for Mego, producer and singer Noriko skips over to another
swell German label, Tomlab, on this go-round of glistening electronic
goodness to go with her lilting murmur of a voice. Crack open a box of
Legos and build something cute - it's the summertime!

world, Sunday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
