Hm... I'm working on enhancing my SM experience with a machine that has
another working Linux (booted over network) running but no ability to boot
from CD/floppy.
I'd like to install possibly both to local hard drive and to NFS similar to
the already running system.

First thing is: How do I install without booting from the ISO?

Download it and use the installer via loop-mount? Do manual creation and
filling of initial filesystem together with chrooting (like gentoo)?

There is

http://wiki.sourcemage.org/install_using_chroot_and_rsync

but this seems to be discouraged and I don't see the point in this rsyncing
since I don't intend to _replace_ the running system (just installing on
local hard disk or another NFS share).

Then, there is

http://wiki.sourcemage.org/FunWithChroot

Which looks a bit like being applicable to my aim... is there some better
place to look or should I just get started with my background and hybris from
some LFS and gentoo installs?

Probably, I'll get started anyway now; but maybe some response will help me
when I eventually will encounter the unavoidable wall that wants my head
banged on.

Greets,

Thomas.
