Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/etherstorm/jopenrpg/jOpenRPG (Unsupported major.minor version 48.0)

What I suspect from this is that the .class was compiled under a
version, or using some feature the old JVM didn't support (maybe like
the 1.4 API does it)

It's not impossible, though I have run 1.3 API compatible code compiled with 1.4 on a 1.3 JRE/JDK with no problems before.

kio (KSycoca): WARNING: Found version 48, expecting version 49 or higher.
kio (KSycoca): WARNING: Outdated database found

Strangely similar. What does KSycoca do? Do you perhaps have a java
plugin thats causing this or something?

I wish I could say I knew. I've never installed a spell named KSycoca, and I'm not sure which spell it resides in. The only browser I have that supports java at present is/was Konqueror. This error was spit out by konq, but konq was being launched as a filemanager at the time.

In breaking news, this error only occurs for my user login, konq works fine when run as root. <shrugs>

It's academic right now, since I can no longer boot into linux. I dropped into windows to make use of my java program ( didn't work, I get an out of memory error on the dataset in windows :/ ), and now my linux kernels won't boot. I'm going to do some research, as I've forgotten what kernel boot options to use to start at a different runlevel, hopefully that will get be back into linux.

It's not been a good week.
