I suspect even though you are running 2.4.22 kernel the sources are from your
trial of 2.6.0-XXX ? What is the name of the dir in /usr/src/ that the
/usr/src/linux link points to ? what is the top four lines of Makefile in
/usr/src/linux ?
what does gaze installed linux tell you ?
If your sources are wrong then that would account for the agpgart module
failing and also if agpgart is in /etc/modules.conf then that is getting
autoloaded (by modutils.sh ) and might account for nvidia not having glx.
Generally two drivers can't control the same piece of hardware at the same
time. ( same goes for rivafb framebuffer driver in kernel, you can't use that
and the nvidia driver).
Have a look in that direction and post back the results.
