Andrew,

I assure you that I always read carefully before I reply, so whenever you feel
that I don't pay attention, please move on. My argument revolves around not
supporting configurations that update at will and provide no means of
identifying which code went into a particular build. Any sysadmin worth their
salt would not even talk to packager who proposes such wild idea, simply
because it's as *unpredictable* as it can get. Do you realize that users
updating at different times of day in their locale will have potentially
different source code? Users will never make this choice consciously.

Sergey.

I would like to vote against automatic update and VERSION=$(date). The
only use for this is if one is a developer and is testing every
incremental change. Such spells must go into private grimoires or
whatever else, but into supported grimoires. There's no way we can
provide *support* for such spells.

Next time read carefully. The user will be asked if he wants to use
automatic updating or not.
