This is only a partial solution, because we also publish uncompressed HISTORY files on codex, and they have every developer's email of course... So may I suggest changing rules for writing HISTORY files too?

For all of the developers who are tired of receiving porn, pharmaceutical and other notices, I would like to change The Source Mage Developers [0] Wiki page, modifying the e-mail addresses so they are not easy for spammers to scavenge. If you want to keep receiving those notices, just let me know and I'll leave your e-mail address alone.

The reason I am posting this is because we will lose the ability to just click on an e-mail address and have a new e-mail message pop open with the e-mail address already entered in the To: field. Personally, I'm okay with manually typing to reduce the spam.

It seems we have two ways of doing it: 1) the entire e-mail address as one long word with the @ and the . converted to something like_AT_ and _DOT_ (as Andrew as done for his e-mail addresses -- I followed his lead), or 2) each piece separated by a space. The advantage of using method 1 is that we can still do the instant e-mail message trick, but we will have to convert the _AT_ and _DOT_ (or whatever) back to their appropriate symbols. The advantage of using method number 2 is we can do a direct copy and paste and remove the spaces.

Unless there is a better way that I have not thought of, I think converting all the e-mail addresses to the method 1 format is what I will do. Let me know.

Also, I'm not sure about this, should Jabber addresses be converted also, or are they resistant to spam?
